PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a sheet conveying unit which can surely control to drive to stabilize conveying characteristics of a sheet conveying roll by considering the wear of the roll. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a drive regulating means for regulating drive conditions of registration paired roll of a driving unit to approach to a reference conveying time, when a difference between the mean value of the sheet conveying time and a reference conveying time is a set value or more, by comparing the sheet conveying time of a zone from the paired roll (sheet conveying rolls) to the sheet sensing sensor for a plurality of sheets obtained by measuring the conveying time and averaging the time for the plurality of the sheets. The reference conveying time may use the value obtained by measuring the conveying times of the zone from the roll to the sensor for the plurality of the sheets at the time of new component of the roll pair and averaging the times. |
