BENDING METHOD FOR PLATE-SHAPED MATERIAL BY LASER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending method for a plate-shaped material by a laser which needs no mold for molding materials and can easily bring an object located out of reach of the hand, or a part of the object after assembly, into a state of being held. SOLUTION: A laser light absorbing agent 11 is applied on one surface of the plate-shaped material 10 transmitting a laser light. The surface of the plate- shaped material 10 on the side coated with the laser light absorbing agent 11 is brought close to the object to be held and a portion including parts 12 and 13 coated with the agent 11 is irradiated with the laser light from the direction opposite to the surface on the side coated with the agent 11. By heating and then cooling the parts 12 and 13 coated with the laser light absorbing agent 11, the plate-shaped material 10 is bent so that the side of the surface irradiated with the laser light is made protuberant, and the object to be held is held by the plate-shaped material 10.
