PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety of steering control particularly in high-speed traveling in an automatic steering device for automatically steering a vehicle on the basis of an electric steering instruction. SOLUTION: When the change quantity of actual steering position of a steering wheel 6 or steering actuator 4 per unit time is taken as steering speed, the vehicle speed is preliminarily conformed to an upper steering speed that is the upper limit value of allowable steering speed in a memory 24 so that the upper limit steering speed is minimized according to the vehicle speed is increased, and a steering control means 2 controls the steering speed based on the steering instruction so as to be the upper limit steering speed determined from the vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed sensor 3 in reference to the memory or less.
