PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illicit counting preventive device for prize ball counting machine capable of preventing an illicit action as the count value of prize balls is reduced by preventing the generation of a counting pulse during the counting of prize balls. SOLUTION: In a prize ball counting machine for rolling prize balls and counting the number of prize balls by an optical sensor set on the rolling passage thereof, the order state of change of the optical sensor in normal state when gradually changing the emission quantity is preliminarily stored, the order state of change of the optical sensor is detected prior to counting, and this change state is comparatively collated with the stored state, whereby the illicit counting of prize balls is prevented.
