PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recorder in which a head is made small, a nozzle pitch is reduced and the workability for wiring is improved. SOLUTION: There are provided a head body which has nozzles for discharging ink drops and discharge elements for making ink drops to be discharged from the nozzles; a head holder on which the head body is mounted; a head substrate layered between the head holder and the head body for sending discharge signals to the discharge elements; and a circuit board for electrically connecting the head substrate and the discharge elements. An electrical joint between the circuit board and the head substrate is set to a head body side face of the head substrate, and therefore boring a circuit board insertion hole to the head substrate is unnecessary. Hence, a circuit pattern is simplified. The head can be made small because the number of laminated layers of the substrate is reduced and the substrate size is reduced. The cavity size can be reduced because the nozzle pitch is reduced. Moreover, the working efficiency for wiring the circuit board can be improved.
