PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system of steer-by-wire type eliminating a defect in the conventional system and giving an improved torque feeling to a driver. SOLUTION: This system comprises a steering reaction device 55 having a fluid delivery mechanism and a valve 95 changing steering reaction given to a driver. In another type, a friction reaction device including an electromagnetic coil is provided, a feedback signal 61 for changing steering reaction force is provided in the electromagnetic coil. In another type, the reaction device includes a spring device 93, and rotation of a steering wheel 51 corresponds to spring tension. In the method when the driver operates steering in a stop position, sufficient reaction torque for preventing rotation of the steering wheel 5 is increased. When the driver operates steering in a direction leaving from the stop position, the system reduces the steering reaction force felt by the driver. |
