PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexibility varying device for an endoscope which facilitates washing of a coil for adjusting flexibility. SOLUTION: In the flexibility varying device for the endoscope in an endoscope system having the endoscope having a pipeline for inserting a treatment tool within a flexible pipe part and a curving rigidity adjusting tool to be inserted to and removed from the inside of the pipeline for inserting the treatment tool of this endoscope for varying the curving rigidity of the flexible pipe part, the curving rigidity adjusting tool has a coil body formed to be linear in a free state and varying curving rigidity by extension/contraction in an axial direction and a water-impermeable cylindrical cover positioned coaxially on the outer surface of this coil body and making its inside fluid tight.
