PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which an ink discharge quantity can be prevented from being reset unjustly through an inexpensive arrangement. SOLUTION: When a discharge ink quantity exceeding an upper limit is alarmed and a cipher number inputted by a user after replacing a discharge ink tank matches a cipher number stored at a discharge ink information storage section, a discharge ink quantity is set (steps 200-206). Subsequently, the cipher number is altered according to a specified rule and the alarm is released (steps 208, 210). |
