PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve material feeling of the whole coating film in a composite coating film comprising a solid color base coat layer and a top coat layer thereon, and at the same time to improve the sharpness of the coating film when the base coat layer is colored with a titanium oxide pigment. SOLUTION: This composite coating film having an excellent appearance comprises the solid color base coat layer formed on a substrate surface and the top coat layer formed thereon, where the top coat layer contains fine-grained zinc oxide having a mean diameter of <=0.1μm.
