PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in the case that an outer rotor motor is used as a motor for power assisted bicycle, which has defect in low fitting workability, high cost of a permanent magnet and large necessary human driving effort by generated cogging torque. SOLUTION: An outer rotor type permanent synchronous motor is used as a driving motor, and a permanent magnet of the motor is formed into a rectangular shape. A yoke of the motor is formed with grooves, to which the permanent magnet is fitted.
