PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating mechanism capable of preventing a release defect and preventing a release lubricant from scattering in the open air and in the vicinity of casting machine when the powder type lubricating agent for separating a die is used. SOLUTION: A cavity surface 11 of an adjustable die 1 is covered to be an airtight space 12. A cover 2 for the adjustable die and a cavity surface 31 of a fixed die 3 are covered to be an airtight space 32. The coating mechanism for lubricant used for separating die comprises a cover 4 for the fixed die, a coating unit connected with the covers 2 and 4, a pressure reducing unit, a drain unit, and a driving unit letting the covers 2 and 4 move. The lubricant used for separating die is coated by means of the coating unit on the cavity surface 11 of the adjustable die 1 that becomes the airtight space 12 covered with the cover 2. Further, the lubricant used for separating die is also coated by the coating unit on a cavity surface 31 of the fixed die 3 that becomes the airtight space 32 covered with the cover 4.
