PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein that has the ceramide kinase activity, consequently can be a target of prophylaxis or therapy for neurological diseases, inflammations, HIV, type II diabetes, obesity, septicemia, arteriosclerosis and cancers, and the DNA encoding the protein and uses thereof. SOLUTION: The objective protein has the following (1) or (2) characteristics: (1) a protein having the amino acid sequence of from No.1 to No.537 in the sequence No.2 of the sequence list; (2) a protein having the amino acid sequence of from No.1 to No.537 in the sequence No.2 in the molecule where one or two or more amino acids may be added thereto, or deleted therefrom or substituted therewith in the sequence (1) and can express the ceramide kinase activity. |
