PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steerable catheter in which two puller wires can be independently operated. SOLUTION: The catheter has a slender flexible tubular catheter body (12) and a control handle (16) provided at the proximal end of the catheter body. The control handle has a hollow handle housing (60) fixed to the catheter body, a piston (64) slidably provided in the handle housing and a pulley (66) fixed to the handle housing in a position near the proximal end of the piston. A first puller wire (32a) has a distal end fixed to the distal end of the catheter body and a proximal end anchored to the piston. The second puller wire (32b) extends into the handle through the catheter body and encircles the pulley, and the proximal end of the second puller wire is anchored to the piston. |
