PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-lumen catheter having a small cross-sectional area or a multi-lumen catheter having a plurality of independent catheter tubes that are integrally fused to reduce a cross-sectional area. SOLUTION: Each catheter tube has an external surface, an internal surface and a lumen. Each catheter tube can be made of a different thermoplastic material. In the beginning, a mandrel is inserted into the hole 24 of each catheter tube to support each catheter tube. Subsequently, catheter tubes are arranged side by side in a certain arrangement relationship. In this arrangement, it is important that the external surface 22 of a certain catheter tube contacts the external surface of at least one other catheter tube. Subsequently, catheter tubes arranged are held in a sleeve, and advanced through the sleeve and a heating cylinder, and the external surfaces of the catheter tubes are fused. To prevent the internal surface of each catheter tube from melting, a cooling means is arranged in the lumen of each catheter tube. |
