PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene encoding aldohexose dehydrogenase for the stable production of aldohexose dehydrogenase at a reduced cost, a recombinant vector containing the gene, a transformant containing the recombinant vector and a recombinant aldohexose dehydrogenase produced from the transformant. SOLUTION: A gene encoding aldohexose dehydrogenase and derived from a microorganism of the genus Gluconobacter is cloned to prepare a recombinant vector containing the gene inserted in an expression vector and a recombinant aldohexose dehydrogenase is produced from the transformant containing the recombinant vector.
