PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a leg of a plotter capable of manufacturing a plotter's leg from a metallic plate only through a pressing process without using a welding process. SOLUTION: When a metallic plate main body 10 is folded so as to be a tubular shape with a prescribed cross sectional shape, and the side edges 11a, 11b of the two butt pieces 10a, 10b of the metallic main body 10 are bonded, acute angled short halfway pieces 12a, 12b are arranged at each side edge 11a, 11b of the two pieces and a bonding tool 20 composed of the main piece 21 having a longer width 2L+ΔL than the total length of both halfway pieces and a pair of inboard oblique pieces 22a, 22b which are longer than the halfway piece, maintaining an opposite inverted chevron shape being arranged at each side edge of the main pieces, is formed from the metallic plate and two pieces of the side edge having the halfway piece of the metallic main body are confronted and by fitting the bonding tool outside both halfway pieces abutted, the tip end 22' of each inboard slant piece is abutted to the inside of each side edge 11a, 11b of the two pieces of the metallic plate main body and each halfway piece of the metallic plate main body is sandwiched by the main piece of the bonding tool and each inward oblique piece and is crushed flat on the two pieces having each side edge of the metallic main body.
