PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition, an ink set, a method for forming a colored part on a medium to be recorded and an ink-jet recording apparatus wherein when a multi-color image with a furthermore wider range for color reproduction and excellent uniformity of color and a boundary region where different colors are brought into contact with each other is formed, an image with high quality with excellent reliability in printing without generating bleeding. SOLUTION: The liquid composition which is applied on the medium to be recorded with an ink containing a coloring material and is used for forming a colored part on the medium to be recorded being a liquid composition comprising a solvent and fine particles with reactivity with the coloring material and the particle size distribution of the fine particles in the liquid composition measured by means of a dynamic light scattering method has respectively at least one peak in a range of at least 10 nm and less than 80 nm and in a range of at least 80 nm and at most 250 nm, the ink set, the method for forming the colored part on the medium to be recorded, the ink-jet recording apparatus, a cartridge and a recording unit are provided.
