PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice pillow or ice bag which is capable of drastically reducing the labor of an attendant or nursing person and has an excellent cooling characteristic, in addition to the comfortableness to use. SOLUTION: This ice pillow or ice bag 10 is constituted by putting a multiplicity of small capsules 12 hermetically sealed with water and other cooling materials into a deformable bag 11. The following effects are obtained by the ice pillow or ice bag: (1) The work to replace ice necessary in the case of the conventional ice pillows or ice bags can be omitted, and if plural pieces of the ice pillows or ice bags are stored in a freezer at all times and are alternately used, the labor of an attendant or nursing person can be drastically reduced. (2) Since the ice pillow or ice bag fits snugly to the head, an excellent cooling characteristic can be obtained and this ice pillow or ice bag is comfortable to use for a sick person or wound person.
