<p>Device makes use of a rotating partly immersed, bacterial bed, consisting of a cluster of partitioned plastic tubes. The unit length of the tubes is limited to 1 m and the tubes are slightly inclined w.r.t. the horizontal axis of rotation of the cluster. The plastic tubes consist of an external wall which forms a cylindrical sheath of several square centimetres cross-section, this is divided by thin partitions. The tubes are placed side by side to form a cylindrical cluster around a horizontal axis, the cluster rotates inside a tank and is partly immersed in the water to be purified. With the use of plastic materials, very compact purification assemblies can be produced.</p> |
