PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for driving a bipolar plasma display panel are provided to improve resolution of the bipolar plasma display panel by applying scan signals and address signals twice in a rising part and a falling part of a sustain discharge pulse. CONSTITUTION: A video signal processing portion(710) is formed with a television signal converter(712), a video display controller(714), and a video memory(716). A high voltage supply portion(720) provides voltages of 80V and 180V. The television signal converter(712) is used for converting complex video signals to R, G, and B video signals, digitalizing the video signals, storing the digitalized video signals, and providing various control signals to the video display controller(714). The video display controller(714) provides data signals to a data electrode circuit(740) by processing the video data of frame units by sub-frame units. The high voltage supply portion(720) generates high voltage for driving a plasma display panel(750) and supplies the generated high voltage to a scan electrode circuit(730) and a data electrode circuit(740). |
