PURPOSE: A polyester multi-filament yarn is provided which is characterized by having high modulus and low shrinkage, having 2.5-3.5denier of single yarn fineness, 0.94-1.00 of inherent viscosity, 0.65-0.9wt.% of DEG(diethylene glycol) content, under 23wt.% of CEG(carboxyl end group) content, 7.5-8.5g/d of tenacity, 13.0-16.0% of elongation, 4.0-7.0% of shrinking percentage and at least 27 of silk factor, making it possible to produce a cord having excellent dimensional stability and tenacity, and being useful for a reinforcement of rubber products. CONSTITUTION: The polyester multi-filament yarn is obtained by a process containing the steps of: preparing solid-state polymerized polyester chip containing at least 90mol% of ethylene terephthalate unit and having 1.05-1.13 of inherent viscosity; melt-spinning at 290-298deg.C to manufacture yarn; passing the yarn(4) through a cooling zone(3) to solidify; winding the yarn at 2500-2800m/min of speed to manufacture the undrawn yarn having 0.06-0.09 of birefringence ratio and 1.360-1.375 of density; and then drawing the wound yarn at a high temperature in the total drawing ratio of 1.5-2.5. |
