PURPOSE: A system for guiding and connecting a telephone number using an SMS(Short Message System) and a method therefor are provided to download corresponding information to a portable terminal using one button or automatically connect to a displayed telephone number by combining a wired with a wireless exchange technique in the SMS using a sending message function of the portable terminal, retrieving corresponding telephone number information when a user inputs desired object information using a sentence, and automatically transmitting corresponding telephone number information to the portable terminal of the user. CONSTITUTION: A telephone having wired telephones(202,210) and wireless telephones(220,211) and a communication network having local networks(203,209), wireless networks(200,212), and a toll network(204) transmit and receive an SMS message. An information providing server(230) connects to the communication network, retrieves a telephone number identical to information included in the SMS message transmitted from the telephone, transmits the retrieved telephone number to the telephone as the SMS message, and connects the user of the telephone to an object when the user of the telephone wishes for connection. An SMS(207) connects to the information providing server(230), decodes the SMS message transmitted through the telephone, and transmits the SMS message. A telephone information DB(208) connects to the information providing server(230) and stores telephone number information. |
