PURPOSE: Provided are a device and a method for collecting toll in open tollgate, which collects a differential toll according to a model of automobile passing toll road and a distance between entrance and exit of the tollgate. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a unit(100) which is load on car, and has information about a model of car, smart card and various automobiles, as well as unique functions for power transmission; a roadside base station(210) for exchanging an information for collecting a toll by using the unit(100) and radio communication, which is positioned at entrance and exit of the tollgate; a terminal controller(240) for toll collection, which receives an automobile information from the entrance and exit of the base station, and calculate a toll, and collects the toll. The unit(100) comprises the terminal controller(240). |
