New hair dyeing agents based on oxidation dyes comprise 4-aminopyrazolones of general formula:- in which R 1 and R 2 represent a hydrogen atom or an organic residue containing not more than 10 carbon atoms and known coupling components for hair dyeing. The pyrazolone compounds may be used in the form of their salts particularly the hydrochlorides and coupling components include amines, diamines, phenols, naphthols, polyphenols, and aminophenols. In the formula above R 1 and R 2 are preferably alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radicals. |
