PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grill which enables a user to check how the food inside the grill is cooked by an easy operation. SOLUTION: A shutter 32 is provided below an opening 30e for illumination located on a top plate 30 for the grill and a lower part 30f of an opening, and the shutter 32 is urged toward the forward direction (front) by a tension spring 35 by the shutter 32. As the shutter 32 is closed, grease G and oily smoke coming from the food F hardly get onto the inner wall of a room 31 for accommodating a light source, a bulb 34, and a view window 80 during cooking. If a user wants to check how the food is cooked, he/she can turn a knob 46 for opening and closing to the opening position. Turning the knob 46 for opening and closing to the opening position slides the shutter 32 into the back, links the opening 30e for illumination and the lower part 30f of the opening with the inside 12 of the grill, and lights up the bulb 34. As a result, the light from the view window 80 and the reflection from the bulb 34 illuminate the inside 12 of the grill.
