PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the S/N of imaging signals by reducing noise made before an electric charge multiplication means in an endoscope provided with a solid- state imaging means having the electric charge multiplication means. SOLUTION: An organism observation part is imaged by a CCD imaging device 106 and displayed on a monitor. In this case, a signal electric charge photoelectrically converted by a photodetective part 21 is transferred to a storing part 22 every prescribed time, transferred additionally to a horizontal transferring path 23 in order, multiplied by an electric charge multiplication path 24 and outputted from an output part 25. The residual electric charges of the path 23 and the path 24 are cleared through a clear drain 26 every horizontal blanking period just after outputting of a signal electric charge for one horizontal line at the part 21. The residual electric charges of the part 22 and a vertical transferring CCD 33 are transferred to a substrate cleared through a clearing part 34 in addition to clearing of the residual electric charges of the path 23 and the path 24 every frame blanking period just after outputting of all the signal electric charges. Thus, making of noise due to the residual electric charges is reduced.
