PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for utilizing a plurality of scans for reconstituting a CT image especially advantageous for CT imaging of the heart. SOLUTION: In the method for imaging the volume of a patient 22 by a computed tomographic(CT) imaging system 10, the method comprises the following steps for scanning the volume of the patient by scanning a first, full field of view(FOV) for acquiring first projection data, scanning a smaller volume of the patient with a second, restricted FOV scan for acquiring second projection data, evaluating the quantity of shift between the first and second projection data resulting from patient movement, and evaluating the projection of the second scan by blending the first with second projection data according to the evaluated shift quantity. |
