PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbon for a thermal transfer recording capable of addi tionally preventing the forgery of bank notes, valuable papers or the like. SOLUTION: The ribbon for the thermal transfer recording is constituted of a 3-layer structure of a coloring material layer 1, a substrate 3 and an invisible image pattern recording substance 2. A pattern for specifying the ink ribbon is recorded on only a part where the coloring material layer 1 and the invisible image pattern recording substance 2 are superposed and, therefore, the manufacturing place or the manufacturing time of the ink ribbon can be specified by reading the pattern whereby the forgery of bank notes, valuable papers or the like can additionally be prevented. |
