PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a trouble due to current deficiency caused by simultaneous driving of actuators can be prevented as much as possible, by avoiding simultaneous driving of a plurality of actuators being controlled at a drive control section according to designation from a main control section as much as possible. SOLUTION: The printer is provided with a print control board 51 and an auxiliary control board 52. The print control board 51 is provided with a CPU 60, an ROM 61, an ASIC 63, and the like, and is responsible principally for print control. An ASIC 71 on the auxiliary control board 52 controls operation of a solenoid valve 48 for supplying ink to a subtank 45, a motor 56 for folding machine, and a cutter motor 57 according to designation from the CPU 60. The ASIC 71 also drives a roll sheet motor 14 independently based on a detection signal from a sensor 34 for detecting the slack of a roll sheet P. At the time of designating the ASIC 71 to control operation of the solenoid valve 48 and the motors 56 and 57, the CPU 60 makes a decision whether the roll sheet motor 14 is rotating or not. If it is rotating, the CPU 60 waits for stopping of the roll sheet motor 14 before designating the ASIC 71.
