PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a character under print from being disturbed through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: The printer for printing on a sheet P and winding a printed sheet P into a roll comprises a member 5 for holding a winding member 4 rotatably in a state touching a drive pulley 6 such that a winding force is transmitted from the drive pulley to the winding member and holding the winding member 4 movably to touch the drive pulley 6 or recede therefrom depending on the winding amount of a sheet P being printed during print operation onto the sheet P being printed at a print section 2.
