PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the crown member of a refilling pencil which easily checks the density of a lead 6 in use by eyesight and is equipped with a lead density display device to be easily assembled. SOLUTION: This crown member of the refilling pencil is constituted of an inner knob 14 to be freely attached to and detached from a lead tank 2, a tail plug 12 with lead density indications nicked on a peripheral face and an outer knob 13 with a display window 13B through which one of the lead density indications can be seen. In addition, a forward tongue piece 14D and a rear tongue piece 4E are formed on the inner knob 14. Besides, the tip of the forward tongue piece 14D comes into contact with the engagement step 13C of the outer knob 13 and at the same time, the tip of the rear tongue piece 14E comes into contact with the engagement step 12F of the tail plug 12.
