PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back sheet for a sanitary article suitable for obtaining the sanitary article having excellent water dispersibility and leakproof properties, rapidly dispersed in water without generating gelatinous lumps in water when discharged to a toilet, reducing the load of a septic tank, hard to generate the ply separation of the back sheet when used and having an excellent wearing feeling. SOLUTION: In the back sheet used in the sanitary article constituted by holding and surrounding a body fluid absorbable member by a body fluid permeable surface sheet and the body fluid impermeable back sheet and forming a pressuresensitive adhesive layer on the surface opposite to the body fluid absorbable member of the back sheet, a water dispersible substrate is integrally laminated on one surface of a sealing layer comprising a body fluid impermeable water soluble resin and an environmentally decomposable resin layer is integrally laminated on the other surface thereof.
