PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root-cutting apparatus for a stump, having multifunction such as cutting, splitting lengthwise, crushing and cutting root. SOLUTION: This root-cutting apparatus has a receiving board on the tip of a base frame to be fixed to the arm of an earthmoving machine and a mechanism of cutting, splitting lengthwise and crushing with a single-edged cutter arm driving with link mechanism and the receiving board; wherein the link mechanism comprises a lever having at the tip side a cylinder connective pin hole of the main body of the earthmoving machine and a link to be pivotally attached to and connected with the back part of the cutter arm and the lever, and the link is connected on a set position in the middle of the lever so that the link is extruded in almost the horizontal direction; and further, the apparatus unitedly has a cracking blade on the tip of the receiving board of the base frame, unitedly forms a fire hook member on the outer back part of the base frame and unitedly sets a wedge member on the back part of the cutting blade of the cutter arm.
