PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam reduced in the content of impurities when obtained and capable of being enhanced in the communication degree of cells by facilitating the extraction and removal of a cell forming material from a mixture prepared by mixing a main material, the cell forming material or the like, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A predetermined thermoplastic resin 12 and the granular cell forming material are uniformly mixed and the cell forming material is extracted and removed from the resulting mixture to obtain the foam 10 having cells 16 formed thereto. In this case, a numerical value of a particle dimension in the cell forming material is set to 0.16×n-6.45×n (wherein, n is a natural number). |
