PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool that is improved in the performance of discharging and collecting chips. SOLUTION: Troughs 39 are disposed in a bed 13 where they are passed substantially perpendicularly to a movement direction of a table 15. A plurality of chutes 47 with openings inclined toward the troughs 39 under the table 15 collect chips into the troughs 39, and chip discharging means 41 arranged in the troughs 39 discharge the chips to the outside.
