PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastomer having a strong bond with respect to a substrate comprising a polymetic elastomer and constituted by providing a carbonaceous film on the surface layer of the substrate having flexibility. SOLUTION: The elastomer consists of the substrate 3 comprising a rubber or an elastomer, and the carbonaceous film 3c formed on the surface layer of the substrate by injecting carbonaceous ions in at least a part of the surface layer of the substrate and subsequently accumulating them thereon. The carbonaceous film 3c is formed by such a process that gas is introduced into a vacuum tank in which the substrate is arranged in a state connected to a conductor, high frequency power is applied to the interior of the vacuum tank through the conductor to generate plasma of the gas around the substrate, and high voltage pulses are applied to the substrate 3 through the conductor to induce and inject carbonaceous ions in the plasma in the surface layer of the substrate 3 to accumulate them thereon. |
