PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which the size can be reduced by disposing a carriage and a feed roller in proximity to each other. SOLUTION: The recorder 100 records information on a recording medium being fed by a feed roller 142 using a recording head 153 mounted on a carriage 151 wherein the feed roller is disposed directly below the scanning region of the carriage and juxtaposed to a wiring board for connecting the recording head electrically with a control section on the underside thereof. Since the depth of the recorder body can be reduced, the recorder can be reduced in size.
