PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester solving the problem that a conventional vegetable harvester with a scheme comprising nipping the leaves/ stems of root vegetables by a pair of left and right nipping belts and digging the root vegetables acts to raise the leaves/stems with a divider rod or relevant raiser, however, when the stems/leaves are overgrown thickly, they are often pulled off or lifted in a mutually entangled condition, resulting in the improper action of the nipping belts in the succeeding step. SOLUTION: This root vegetable harvester has the following scheme: root vegetables are pulled off and harvested by a pair of left and right nipping belts 2 and 2' in an inclined posture with the initial end faced close to the ground at the lower part in front of the vehicle body 1 and the terminal end supported rearwardly upward; wherein a stems/leaves presser 3 and a stems/ leaves cutter 4 are disposed at the sides in front of the nipping belts 2 and 2' in such a state as to be in proximity to or press contact with the farming field surface.
