The device is for raising an adjustable head support in a motor car to optimize the vertical height adjustment for the user in front and rear seating positions. It comprises two identical parts (1,2) composed of an elongated basic hollow frame part open on the upper side which at its closed edge evolves into a second elongated basic frame part of lesser cross-section. The two parts can be displaced so that as a composed entity they can be anchored (5-8) together with the main support. The main support fixture system is in the rear of the seating places and the basic frame parts act as raising intermediate pieces between the main support and the original main support fixture points in the seating.
