PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire manufacturing method setting the extending angle of the cords of a belt layer to the equatorial surface of a tire small in the tire of which the peripheral length is large and not requiring the arrangement of large-scaled equipment. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire manufacturing method equipped with a means extending the cords 3 of the belt layer 8 used in the reinforcement of a tread at an angle of 3-15 deg. with respect to the equatorial surface of the tire, a process for applying rubber coating to a plurality of the cords 3 in such a state that the cords 3 are parallelly arranged at a predetermine cord interval in forming the belt layer 8 to form a treatment layer 6, a process for linearly cutting the treatment layer 6 at every predetermined length at a predetermined angle of inclination with respect to the extending direction of the cords to obtain cut sheets 10 and a process for mutually joining the cut sheets in a strip-like state by using the linear cut edges of the sheets as side edges to form a joined strip 12 are successively performed.
