<p>An apparatus for continuously dispersing and homogenising esp. viscous substances, comprises a number of demountable superimposed annular components constituting an upper settling chamber of a lower agitation chamber in which a rotor revolves with its discs penetrating into annular grooves in the chamber wall as in the Parent Patent and First addition, is improved as follows the rotor chamber is solid-walled in its upper part and has a central opening for the rotor shaft, of larger diameter than the rotor shaft and has annular grooves to receive the rotor discs. Specif., the rotor chamber is formed by pairs of discs each with upstanding edges alternately facing upwards and downwards, so that each pair forms one annular groove; in an alternative embodiment, the pair of discs may be moved apart by a rack and pinion mechanism, so as to vary the depth of each groove.</p> |
