FIELD: electrical engineering; gas-discharge lamps whose starting voltage is higher than supply voltage. SUBSTANCE: starter that enables automatic restart of lamp in case it has gone out due to interruption of power supply and automatic turn-off of starting pulses in case of lamp failure or its absence has time-setting component, pulse autotransformer with capacitor and threshold element shorted out by back diode connected to its primary leads, circuit of series-connected resistor and diode one of whose leads is connected to switch unit, to one of power leads of time-setting component, to one of threshold element leads, and to low-voltage intermediate lead of pulse autotransformer. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of lamp starting from supply mains and starting pulse turn-off upon lamp starting. 2 dwg
