PURPOSE: A shift lever assembly for a manual transmission is provided to operate accurately by pushing and moving a sill with a skirt of a lever body, and to perform shifting properly by preventing displacement of the lever body and the skirt in inclining the lever body for 5/6-range or 1/2-range. CONSTITUTION: A shift lever assembly of a manual transmission is composed of a lever housing(52) installed between a driver's seat and a passenger seat; a lever body(60) installed in the lever housing for selecting the speed range or shifting by moving right and left or backward and forward; a skirt(70) protruded in the lever body for a reverse range; a fitting sill(80) pushed by the skirt in selecting 5/6-range by the lever body, and installed in the lever housing to fit the skirt at the reverse range; and an elastic member applying elastic force to the fitting sill. Reliability is improved with shifting accurately in inclining the lever body.
