PURPOSE: A brake system of a vehicle is provided to stop a brake disk by using displacement of a piezoelectric element in stepping on a pedal, and to prevent lowering of performance by restricting leakage of brake fluid from hydraulic pressure. CONSTITUTION: A brake system for a vehicle is composed of a brake assembly(20) having pressure pads(21) generating friction with moving at both sides of a brake disk(10) rotating with wheels at high speed; an operating unit(30) generating driving force to move the pad of the brake assembly back and forth through voltage according to operation of the brake pedal; and a controller(40) receiving a brake pedal signal and a signal from a wheel speed sensor, and controlling to supply power to the operating unit according to logic. The weight is reduced with braking by using the piezoelectric element, and the productivity is increased with preventing lowering of performance.
