PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve weight capacity (load capacity) and reliability by improving lubrication to a journal and a bearing face. SOLUTION: Each of slide bearings 1, 7 and 8 in an internal combustion engine has a stationary bearing housing 2 with a bearing internal face, which extends at 0-360 deg. to a circumference from a longitudinal direction line 11 that contacts with the journal 5 when the engine stops. The bearing internal face is divided into at least one wavelike area 16 having a wavelike surface whose wavelike trough extends to the circumference and a smooth area 15. When the internal combustion engine is operated with a full load, at least the wavelike area 16 is arranged in the bearing face area located at the shortest distance from the journal 5, the smooth area 15 extends at least at 3 deg. to the circumference from the longitudinal direction line 11 at both sides, and the wavelike area 16 is separated at least at 5 deg. to the circumference from the longitudinal direction line 11.
