PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor and a wiper unit, where the motor has a breather into which water does not penetrate easily. SOLUTION: In forming the motor 1 and the wiper unit 25, a frame-mounting part 3b of a gear case 3 is set apart from a through-hole 4a at a prescribed distance, and the space lower than the through-hole 4a is surrounded, except for the downward direction, and opened to the outside. A relief hole 4b for a manufacturing tool for forming the through-hole is formed at the position of the frame mounting part 3b opposite to the through-hole 4a, the relief hole 4b used upon forming the through-hole 4a of the gear case 3. The relief hole 4b for the manufacturing tool is blocked, when a frame 20 is mounted on the frame-mounting part 3b.
