PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display color information measuring method capable of performing easily highly accurate chromaticity measurement, and a device using the method. SOLUTION: When imaging with a camera 3, an image 10a of a color display pattern projected on a screen 2 with a projector 1, and detecting color information of a display color of a display device within an imaged display screen, a spectral distribution measuring device 4 is used jointly, to thereby improve the color information detection accuracy and detection efficiency. Thereby, the chromaticity detection accuracy can be improved, and the quality evaluation standard of a color display device such as a projector can also be improved.
