PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor with an added value capable of optionally controlling reproduction/non-reproduction of data in addition to gamma conversion processing of only density reproduction in a conventional image processor. SOLUTION: The image processor is provide with a read means that optically reads an image and converts it into an electric signal, a shading correction means that corrects the read signal on the basis of data of a reference white board, a scanner gamma correction means that corrects a 1 to 1 conversion characteristic between the read original density and the converted electric signal, a variable magnification means that magnifies/reduces the image data, a feature quantity extract means that represents a feature of the image data in a multi-value, a spatial filter processing means, a gamma conversion means that corrects write density, and a medium tone processing means that reproduces the gradation of the original. Then the gamma conversion means has a plurality of gamma conversion tables to convert the density, at least one of the gamma conversion tables has a characteristic of not reproducing data of a wide low density area than that of the other gamma conversion tables and the gamma conversion table is selected depending on the information and the threshold value obtained from the feature quantity extract means. |
