PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD videocassette recorder with an HDD constituted to suppress the power consumption of an HDD section and to prolong the life of the HDD section. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so that before operating the HDD section 700, the control of a heater 720 for heating allows the inside of a device to be heated suitably, and the HDD section is made not to start suddenly in the state of low temperature or so that when the temperature in a device rises too much, the temperature in the device is lowered by the control of a fan 730 for cooling not to continue operating of the HDD section in the state of an high temperature. This prolongs the life of the HDD section. Additionally, the HDD section will be made to stop when unnecessary condition that the HDD section runs continues during the certain fixed time. This avoids the unnecessary power consumption due to the HDD section.
