PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a digital broadcast receiver without wastefully performing picture recording as a program on a different channel for the picture recording which is not currently viewed is ciphered. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receive is provided with an input device 2 to which a viewer selectively instructs a desired broadcasting program, first and second channel selection demodulation parts 11, 21, and first and second cipher release with 12, 22 and first and second multiplexing and demultiplexing decoding parts 13, 23 as the receiving part of a listening and looking signals respectively. When the program on the different channel for the picture recording is detected to be a ciphered pay program based on the analysis result of a program information analysis part 3c analyzing program information included in a broadcasting signal, a display information generation device 15 generating arbitrary character and figure information and/or voice information generates purchasing guide information of the pay program, is synthesized with viewing video and audio information output from the first multiplexing and demultiplexing decoding part 13 by a synthesizing device 16, and outputs the result to the viewing video and audio display device 14, not on the side of the picture recording video and audio recording device 24, to guide the viewers.
